San Juan de Dios – District on the outskirts of Las Palmas

Another district situated on a hill

San Juan de Dios is located in the far south east of the city. It is only accessible by city bus or hired car. From the district, which was built on a hill, you can once again enjoy a superb view over the entire east coast of Las Palmas. In the background you can catch sight of the ships and yachts, which are arriving in the harbour of Las Palmas or leaving it. Every so often you can experience the prevalence of the exotic Canarian vegetation there. Often you can only hear the roaring of the waves, which sounds from the district San Cristobal situated underneath, or the howling of the wind, which blows through some deserted and wild palm trees.
